Lab Protocols
In keeping with the open science practices, all experimental protocols, procedures, and data used in our lab are published as open-access resources and are freely available for others to use. For inquiries regarding specific methodologies or data not found here, please contact our research team via the form on our Contact Information page.
3D Printing Lab Materials
3D printing is transforming research by making it possible for scientists, educators, and community members to create their own lab equipment! Instead of purchasing expensive proprietary tools, researchers can print items like pipette holders, microscope adapters, and other custom tools at a fraction of the cost. This dramatically lowers financial barriers in science — particularly for institutions and labs with fewer resources. Because designs can be shared freely online, 3D printing aligns naturally with the principles of open-access science — encouraging collaboration, transparency, and reproducibility. By enabling design sharing, the ZomBeetles lab supports open access to the tools needed for biological discovery. Laboratory Protocols
Making laboratory protocols openly available helps ensure that scientific research is transparent, reproducible, and accessible to everyone. By sharing detailed, step-by-step methods, we enable other researchers, educators, and community members to replicate our experiments with confidence — as well as adapt them to their own needs. Protocol sharing also support more rigorous science by allowing findings to be independently verified and improved upon. In the spirit of open science, this collection of protocols is made available by the ZomBeetles lab to empower research together. You can download any of these protocols by clicking on their corresponding image in our protocol library below!
